The iron was found among rocks below the ruined fisherman's cottages at Stove, Sanday. So little was discarded when the cottages were inhabited that everything would have been thrown over the bank onto the shore. Among the seaweed there, are shards of broken crockery & remains of buckets, tools, cooking pots..
