Seed Canister

Seed Canister
28" long, steel, C19th, from sowing barrow

found at Stove

'' The most important job of sowing the seed was done by a slow and trustworthy horse yoked to the sowing barrow and generally the Head of the house carefully filled the seed canisters which in turn were pulled round with the aid of small teethed wheels as the barrow was pulled over the top of the drills leaving them nice and smooth, or at least they were meant to be."
